The Channel 4 series – which tries to match people over dinner – has been a real hit with viewers.
It has been on air now for three years and won a Bafta for best reality programme.
But executive producer Nicola Lloyd says there are no signs of it ending soon.
She said: “It’s not hard to find people for our show. “People buy into First Dates as a match-making service – more than online dating things like Tinder.” Nicola insisted she genuinely wanted couples to hook up and didn’t put people together just to make good telly.
She explained: “Our intentions are to put people together so they genuinely find love and have a spark.“Every now and again we have what we call a gritty date, a car crash, but our intentions are always that we think they are going to be a match.”The show’s handsome maitre d’ Fred Sirieix, above, also told how no one ever tries it on with him in the London restaurant used for filming, despite the fact he does receive some very saucy messages on Twitter. We try to match people up so when they come on the date they want to be on that date, not with me.”———————————————————————————— Saucy Lucy Mecklenburgh is getting over her split with Olympic hunk Louis Smith – by having girl crushes.
